Granola
Connect Granola (opens in a new tab) to Customerscore.io and see meetings with your customers directly on their detail page — including the AI-enhanced notes Granola writes for every meeting. Meetings are matched to customers automatically by attendee email address and company domain.
You'll need:
- A Granola workspace on the Business or Enterprise plan (the Granola API isn't available on other plans)
- ADMIN role in Customerscore.io
Step 1 — Create a Granola API key
- Open the Granola desktop app and go to Settings → Connectors → API keys
- Click Create new key, choose the key type, and copy the key (it starts with
grn_)
Which key type? We recommend a Workspace API key (created by a Granola workspace admin). Workspace keys don't expire and aren't tied to a person, so the integration keeps working when somebody leaves. A Personal API key works too, but it expires and only sees the notes that person can access.
Which notes are synced? Notes in Granola are private by default. The API, and so Customerscore.io, only sees the notes the key has access to:
- Workspace key — notes in the Team space and other folders where Allow Granola API access is switched on
- Personal key — the key owner's own notes and notes shared with them (personal scope), or workspace-visible notes (public scope)
Make sure the customer meetings you want in Customerscore.io live in a folder the key can read.
Step 2 — Connect in Customerscore.io
- Open Settings → Providers (opens in a new tab) and click Granola in the Meetings section
- Paste your API key
- Pick the initial sync window — how far back the first sync reaches (30, 90, 180, or 365 days)
- Excluded domains (optional) — comma-separated domains (partners, agencies) that should never be matched to customers
- Click Connect Granola
The first sync starts automatically. After that, meetings sync once a day (6:00 in your account's timezone by default — configurable in the integration settings). You can always trigger a manual run with Sync now.
A meeting shows up only after Granola has finished generating its notes — a meeting that is still being processed is picked up by the next sync.
Rotating the API key
To swap the key (for example when a personal key expires) without losing any synced meetings:
- Create a new API key in Granola (Settings → Connectors → API keys)
- In Customerscore.io, open the Granola integration and click Update API key
- Paste the new key and save
Do not use Disconnect to swap keys — disconnecting deletes all synced meetings.
How meetings are matched to customers
Each meeting's attendees and calendar invitees (including the note owner) are compared against your customer records, in two tiers:
- Email address — an attendee's address equals a customer's (or their contact's) email property
- Company domain — an attendee's company domain matches exactly one customer's email or website domain. Shared/freemail domains (gmail.com, outlook.com, …) and ambiguous domains that would match several customers are skipped.
Matched meetings appear in the Activities feed on the customer detail, with Granola's AI notes and a link to the note in Granola.
Security & data handling
- Read-only usage. The API key is only used to read your notes — Customerscore.io never modifies anything in your Granola workspace.
- No transcripts or private notes stored. Customerscore.io stores meeting metadata (title, time, scheduled duration, attendees) and Granola's AI summary. Transcripts and your private notes are never downloaded.
- Unmatched meetings are not stored. Meetings whose attendees don't match any of your customers are skipped entirely.
- Revocable at any time. Delete the API key in Granola to cut off access. Disconnecting the integration in Customerscore.io deletes all synced meetings from our systems.
Troubleshooting
- "Granola rejected the API key" — the key was copied incompletely, revoked, or has expired, or your Granola plan no longer includes API access. Create a fresh key in Granola and use Update API key in the integration settings — synced meetings are kept.
- Some meetings are missing — the key can only read notes in folders it has access to (see Which notes are synced? above). Move the notes to a shared folder or the Team space, then run Sync now.
- Meetings aren't matching — matching needs customer email or website properties to be filled in. Matching applies on the next daily sync after you fill them in.
